Fruits of the Womb Theatre Company was founded in 2001 by Nina Lemon and Kate Plumb. Whilst many people have contributed to the company's success, FOTW was founded on the great creative energy and friendship of Nina Lemon and Kate Plumb.

The company strived to challenge accepted notions of identity and to use innovative and creative theatre practice as a tool to educate, unite and excite their audiences.

Nina and Kate formed the company as a medium through which to explore dynamic and powerful modes of performance and as a communication tool to question the bare bones of what makes us who we are. Kate and Nina both continue work independently as creatives, writers and directors.
